Morphology

Stem
Usually branched from base, 2 to 12 inches long; plants pubescent.
Leaves
Lower opposite, upper alternate; petiole present; blade broadly ovate to nearly round, .16 to .6 inch long, .12 to .43 inch wide, margins deeply crenate, tip blunt to rounded.
Inflorescence
Racemes, terminal.
Flower
Pedicels .2 to .6 inch long; calyx 4-lobed, .08 to .16 inch, lobes ovate; corolla blue or white with blue lines, 4-lobed, .12 to .16 inch; stamens 2, equal, exserted.
Fruit
Capsules symmetric, strongly compressed, .12 to .16 inch long, .16 to .2 inch wide; seeds pale yellow, ovate, 1.3--1.7 mm.
