Morphology
- Stem
- Plants spreading-bristly. Stems 1, decumbent to ascending, branched from base.
- Leaves
- Alternate, simple; blades narrowly linear to oblanceolate, .4 to 1 inch long, .04 to .2 inch wide, strigose abaxially and adaxially.
- Inflorescence
- Helicoid spikes or racemes, axillary and/or terminal; bracts present.
- Flower
- Usually radially symmetric; sepals 5, connate proximally, calyx lobes linear-lanceolate, .08 to .1 inch; corolla white, tubular, 04 to .08 inch wide; lobes 5, spreading, apex obtuse to rounded; fornices present; stamens 5, adnate to corolla tube; anthers included, pistil 1; style 1, included, undivided.

- Schizocarps; nutlets 1-4, gray or brownish gray, ovoid to 3-sided, .06 to .07 inch, tuberculate to papillose, 1-seeded.
